How much hair do I need to cut off?

It’s completely up to you – we recommend 10cm as a starting point; however, it can be as much or a little as you like but remember if you would like to donate your hair it needs to be at least 20cm. You can find more information here.

Can I donate my hair to Cancer Council?

To ensure we’re helping and supporting as many people as possible; Cancer Council provides synthetic wigs through their Wig and Turban service. We do realise that some patients like to have real hair wigs, and for that reason, we’ve teamed up with Sustainable Salons who accept hair donations.

Please note that the minimum length of ponytails Sustainable Salons accepts is 20cm, measured from where the elastic band is tied, not from where the hair has been cut.

For more information on donating your hair to our partner Sustainable Salons, please visit here.
