I’m rocking the chop to put a stop to cancer!
Did you know that 1 in 2 Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?
I’m taking part in Cancer Council’s Ponytail Project campaign to raise funds that will support Queenslanders impacted by cancer.
I’ve decided now is the time to 'rock the chop' and donate my very long hair. I’ve never cut my hair before - after 23 years, it is 160cm long! - so this is a big step for me, but it feels absolutely worth it. I will be chopping off about 1m, and hope to provide someone in need with the confidence and comfort that comes from having access to a wig. It’s exciting to think that a part of me can bring joy to another person, and this donation feels like a meaningful way to make a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer #chopforchange.
My goal is $5000. All funds raised will go towards cancer research, prevention programs and support services. This means everything from transport to get cancer patients to and from their medical appointments, to assisting childcare facilities to keep kids safe from the sun.
