I’m shaving my head to help put a stop to cancer!
Did you know that 1 in 2 Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?
This statistic is heart-wrenching, but it also drives me to take action. I’m proudly participating in the Cancer Council’s Ponytail Project to raise funds and support Queenslanders affected by cancer.
Cancer has touched my life in many ways—my violin teacher and close neighbour were diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, and I've also lost distant relatives to this disease. Although I haven't been directly impacted by cancer, I understand how devastating it can be, and the resilience it takes to face such challenges. It’s clear that we must do everything we can to change the course for those fighting cancer.
This year, I’ve made the decision to shave my head in support of this important cause.
All funds raised will go directly to Cancer Council’s research, prevention programs, and support services. This includes everything from providing transport for cancer patients to their medical appointments, to offering vital childcare services that help keep kids safe from the sun.
By donating my hair and raising funds, I’m joining the fight to help create change—and I need your support.
