I’m rocking the chop to put a stop to cancer!
As some of you may know, I’ve had long hair for most of my life. But what you might not know is the real reason I’ve been so determined to grow it for so long. From a young age, I made a promise to myself that one day, I would donate my hair to be made into a wig for someone who truly needs it.
The person who loved my hair the most was my beautiful Nanna (photo). She would always compliment the length, the colour, and the way it fell, often reminding me how lucky I was to have it. Her words always stayed with me. In 2024, she was diagnosed with cancer. She fought incredibly hard, with strength and grace, but sadly, in February of this year, she passed away.
In honour of her life, her love, and everything she meant to me, I’ve decided that I will cut my hair on the 10th of October, a date that would have marked her 90th birthday.
Alongside the hair donation, I’ll also be raising money for the Cancer Council, in the hope that one day there will be a cure for this terrible disease
I understand that not everyone is in a position to donate. Just showing support in any form would mean so much. But, if you are able and willing to contribute, even a small amount, it would mean the world to me, and to the countless people who are fighting.
