I’m rocking the chop to put a stop to cancer!

Did you know that 1 in 2 Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?

I’m taking part in Cancer Council’s Ponytail Project campaign to raise funds that will support Queenslanders impacted by cancer.

I have been growing my hair so that I can chop off my ponytail and rock a brand new hairdo. Every ponytail chopped will make a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer #chopforchange.

My chopped hair will be donated for wig making for those impacted by cancer, and all funds raised will go towards cancer research, prevention programs and support services.
This means everything from transport to get cancer patients to and from their medical appointments, to assisting childcare facilities to keep kids safe from the sun.

I know that I can help create change.

Hello all,

Thank you for all of your donations so far, it truly is appreciated.

The appointment for the big chop has been made for Saturday 21st June. A big thank you to Hair & Soul in Helensvale to helping out.

My 6 year old Niece thinks it's very cool that I am donating my hair, and said it will be very good for those that need it. This is a photo of my hair after she styled it for me, to show everyone how long and nice it is.

So far we're at about 24cm in length that will be donated.

Welcome to my Cancer Council fundraising page.

I've donated my hair quite a few times to different charities over the years.

I am lucky enough to have healthy hair that grows fast! So I want to donate it again but this time for people in need of wigs but also, to raise some money for those impacted by cancer.

It's sad to say that most of us know someone impacted by cancer. I myself have friends and family impacted by this awful disease and know of some of the challenges they face.

I want to do something positive. I want to help.

This is how I can do that.
