We're born in a world full of reality.

People get sick, bad is legit. Majority of people know someone who has experienced cancer.

I'm Allegra and I have a sister, Hayley. We are both donating our hair to the Cancer Council in September.

I hope people who have seen the darkness of cancer and other chronic or deadly illnesses find a way to support one another and find joy not individually; but as a community. I wish the funds towards cancer research give all of us hope and belief that we are making a difference.

During this process of caring for others, it makes me think of the other world problems; global warming, human population increase poverty, welfare. I want to help but hey - I'm an eleven year old girl. Kids aren't seen as adults and in our garden the sun shines from those who have bloomed.

Right now I rely on the little things. I hope the small act of cutting my hair brings happiness and joy to someone else my age.

Because during this time we are the flowers - and we make the weather beautiful.
