I’m rocking the chop to put a stop to cancer!

Within the last three years cancer has been a large part of my life. With my Grandpa bring diagnosed with a type of leukemia first and Grandad being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid leukemia in August 2022 shortly after. I’ve seen both their silent struggles, and the cancer stealing their mobility, strength, and patience, while they struggled to keep a smile on their face. My Grandad and Grandpa were incredibly present in my childhood; from going on holidays, taking naps, to academic assemblies, they were always there. My Grandad was a crossword fanatic who taught me the importance of laughter and Grandpa passes on his love of photography, always seeing the beauty in every day.  I make an effort to see one of my favourite people, Grandpa, as often as I can. When Grandad passed away in 2023 a year after being diagnosed, I was distraught, but I strive to be the person my Grandad wanted me to be through sharing a love of cricket (one of his favourite sports) and chasing my dreams. Although the future is uncertain, I know that Grandad will always be with me through every laugh, tear, and moment of joy
