I'm fundraising for my nan!

A big chop for an even bigger cause x

No one should ever have to lose, or live with the fear of losing, a loved one to cancer. No one should have to wonder whether cancer will take their own life. My nan is a breast cancer survivor. She was fortunate that her cancer was detected early and treated before she had go through the gruelling effects of chemotherapy. But I often think about how different things could have been. I could have lost my nan, who is my lifeline and my rock and imagining a world without her makes me incredibly emotional. I know that many families are not as fortunate as mine. For so many people, the fear of losing someone to cancer is a reality. They don't have to imagine what it would be like, the person they love is already gone. To me, that is a reality that should never exist. It is why continuing to support cancer research, early detection, and better treatments is so important, so that fewer families have to experience that kind of loss.

My cohort will be growing our hair out as long as possible so we can part with the ponytail and raise funds in order to help out the Cancer Council by donating and supporting #ROCKTHECHOP

I know that I can help create change and if by cutting my own hair means giving another person the confidence and love for themselves that they deserve then saying goodbye to this ponytail is something i'm more than willing to do x
