I'm rocking the chop on 05/11/2025
I’m leading my school to rock the chop to put a stop to cancer!
Did you know that 1 in 2 Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?
For the past two years I have been growing my hair because I spent quite a lot of time in hospital getting treatment for my autoimmune disease, Juvenile Dermatomyositis - don't worry, I'm getting better every day! I've had some chemotherapy as part of my treatment and I've seen lots of kids with cancer also having chemo. It can be tough and I wanted to do something to help. I spoke to our school principal, Ms Martin, and asked if we could be part of the Ponytail Project to raise awareness and funds for the Cancer Council. My hope is that other students will grow their hair to chop too or can join in a Creative Hair Day in Term 4, all to raise funds for the Cancer Council and make a difference to the lives of kids and grown-ups affected by cancer #chopforchange.
