I'm rocking the chop on 17/07/2026

I’m rocking the chop to put a stop to cancer!

Did you know that 1 in 2 Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?

I’m taking part in Cancer Council’s Ponytail Project campaign to raise funds that will support Queenslanders impacted by cancer.

Throughout the year, I’ll be growing my hair as long as possible, alongside peers all across Queensland, before chopping off my ponytail and rocking a brand new hairdo. Every ponytail chopped will make a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer #chopforchange.

All funds raised will go towards cancer research, prevention programs and support services. This means everything from transport to get cancer patients to and from their medical appointments, to assisting childcare facilities to keep kids safe from the sun.

I know that I can help create change.

Will you support me?

You can find out more about where your donations go at ponytailproject.com.au/about-cancer-council.

Thank you!

Loving someone as a best friend is its own kind of magic — a quiet, steady, powerful force that shapes who you are. That’s exactly what my friendship with Emily feels like. She isn’t just someone I laugh with, vent to, or share memories with. She’s someone whose kindness radiates so brightly that it changes the world around her. And nothing shows that more than her decision to donate her hair to such an incredible cause. When Emily told me she was cutting her hair to help someone in need, my heart swelled with pride. It wasn’t just a haircut. It was an act of compassion, courage, and generosity. She gave a piece of herself — literally — so someone else could feel confident, supported, and seen. That’s who she is: someone who gives without hesitation, someone who thinks of others even when no one is watching. Watching her sit there, ready to cut her hair, I felt this overwhelming wave of love for her. Not romantic love — but the deep, soul-level love you feel for someone who has walked beside you, lifted you up, and made your life brighter. I’m so grateful to have her as my best friend. I’m grateful for her heart, her strength, her softness, her humour, and the way she makes every room feel lighter just by being in it. Emily, if you’re reading this: I am so proud of you. I love you so much. And I am endlessly grateful that I got to be there with you, to support you, and to help cut your hair for something so meaningful. You inspire me. You remind me what kindness looks like in action. You show me what it means to care deeply. And I hope you know that your friendship is one of the greatest gifts in my life. Thank you for being you. Thank you for giving so generously. Thank you for letting me be part of your journey. You’re my best friend — and I couldn’t be more proud.
