I'm rocking the chop on 13/10/2025

I’m rocking the chop to help put a stop to cancer!

I'm cutting my hair for Cancer Council's Ponytail Project because cancer has been part of my story twice. Losing my grandpa when I was little, and watching my mum fight it during COVID.

It's weird how something so devastating can bring out the best in people. I've seen how communities rally around families going through treatment, and how a simple wig can help someone feel human again on their worst days.

My hair will grow back, but the impact we can make together won't fade. Every donation funds research that gets us closer to better treatments, earlier detection, and maybe one day, a world where families don't have to have the conversations mine has had.

Please donate if you can. Not just for the people we've lost, but for everyone still fighting and everyone who hasn't faced this battle yet. Let's make sure they have better odds than the generations before them.

My Updates

Why it matters to me

Wednesday 18th Jun
Cancer has touched my family twice. My grandpa died from cancer when I was young - he came from a big family and losing him affected all of us. Then during COVID, my mum had cancer. Those months were really hard.

I'll never understand what it's actually like to have cancer, but I have deep empathy for people going through it. I've seen how it affects not just the person who's sick, but everyone who loves them.

That's why Rock the Chop matters. When we donate hair, we help someone feel more like themselves during treatment. When we raise money, we support research that might prevent other families from going through what mine did.

It's a simple way to help, but it means a lot.

Thanks to Laila and all students for doing this fundraiser. This will continue to raise awareness as the years continue - not just from memories but what the fundraising can bring for individuals and families but also knowing people care and share hope. I am donating in memory of my friends and family who were/are cancer warriors. Big love. Xx
