We're rocking the chop to put a stop to cancer! Spread the word!
Did you know that 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?
Lourdes Hill College is proud to be taking part in the Cancer Council’s Ponytail Project campaign, raising funds to support people impacted by cancer. This is the third year our College has been involved in this initiative, with an incredible 93 students in Year 12 participating in 2026. LHC’s ‘Rock the Chop’ will happen on Thursday August 20 during Assembly.
Throughout the year, students have been growing their hair as long as possible, alongside peers all across Australia, before their ponytail is chopped off and donated to the Cancer Council.
Every ponytail chopped will make a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer #chopforchange.
All funds raised will go towards essential cancer support services, prevention programs and lifesaving research. This means everything from transporting cancer patients to and from their medical appointments, research and building shade structures to keep kids protected from the sun.
We know that we can help create change.
