I'm rocking the chop on 20/08/2026

I’m rocking the chop & shaving my head to put a stop to cancer!!!!

Did you know that 1 in 2 Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?

I'm taking part in Cancer Council's Ponytail Project campaign to raise funds that will support Queenslanders impacted by cancer. 
All funds will go towards cancer research, prevention programs and support services. This means everything from transport to get cancer patients to and from their medical appointments, to assisting childcare facilities to keep kids safe from the sun. 

In October of 2022, my mum was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. She had multiple rounds of chemo and eventually a double mastectomy. Throughout her cancer journey she showed so much resilience and strength, and I couldn't be more grateful that she is now cancer free.

I can't express how inspired I am by not just my mum, but every other individual that has experienced the effects of cancer. It is often assumed that once someone is declared 'cancer free', their cancer journey stops then and there. However, cancer effects its survivors for their whole lives. They still have to attend checkups and scans which is why organisations that support these individuals are so vital. 

I truly believe it's so important to remember that our health is our wealth!! Spreading awareness and remembering that to be worried about the length and appearance of hair is genuinely such a privilege. 

Knowing that what myself and other Lourdes girls are doing will make a direct impact is so meaningful. I couldn't be more excited to rock the chop and continue to raise as much money as possible to raise awareness and help people struggling with this horrible disease. 

I can't wait to be buzzed!! Thank you for your donations, it truly means the absolute world to me. Cancer is so beyond evil, your generosity is so so appreciated.
