I’m rocking the chop to put a stop to cancer!

Did you know that 1 in 2 Queenslanders will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime?

I am taking part in the Cancer Council’s Ponytail Project to honor the memory of my great-aunt Sonja and my great-grandmother, Kathleen, who both passed away from breast cancer. I also want to take part for my mum, who has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Cancer has had a significant impact on my family, and through these experiences, I have seen how difficult and challenging a cancer diagnosis can be, not only for the person diagnosed but also for the people who love and support them.

Participating in the Ponytail Project is a meaningful way for me to turn something personal into something positive. By donating my hair and raising funds, I hope to help support people affected by cancer. Losing your hair during treatment can be a difficult experience, so being able to help bring cancer patients hope and confidence is a great honour.

This project means so much more to me than simply cutting my hair. It is my way of remembering pass family members and standing with everyone whose lives have been affected by cancer.
